Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
These terms govern your use of Postonero as a restaurant operator. By using Postonero, you agree to these terms. If you have questions, contact james@jamesandthesite.com.
1. Who we are
Postonero is a restaurant reservation platform operated by James and the Site (jamesandthesite.com). References to "Postonero", "we", "us", or "our" refer to James and the Site. References to "you" or "your" refer to the restaurant operator using the service.
2. The service
Postonero provides:
- An embeddable booking widget for your restaurant website
- A staff dashboard for managing reservations
- Automated guest confirmation emails with cancellation links
- An optional approval workflow for reservation requests
The service is provided on a month-to-month basis. We reserve the right to update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
3. Your account and access
Access to the staff dashboard is protected by credentials provided to you during setup. You are responsible for keeping those credentials confidential. You must not share access with anyone outside your restaurant team.
You may not use Postonero for any purpose other than managing reservations for your own restaurant(s). Reselling, sublicensing, or reverse-engineering the service is not permitted.
4. Fees and payment
Postonero is billed at a flat monthly rate per restaurant venue. There are no per-cover fees, no commission charges, and no setup fees.
Early access (until 1 August 2026): £20 per month. Subscriptions started before 1 August 2026 remain on this rate; we have no plans to increase it before 1 January 2028 at the earliest, though we reserve the right to do so with reasonable notice if our underlying costs change materially.
Standard rate (from 1 August 2026): £40 per month, applied to subscriptions started on or after that date. Existing early-access subscribers are not affected.
If Postonero is included as part of a website package from jamesandthesite.com, the complimentary period and subsequent billing terms are as agreed in that separate arrangement. After the included period ends, billing continues at the rate that was in effect when the complimentary period began, unless you cancel.
We will provide reasonable notice of any changes to pricing before they take effect.
5. Cancellation
You may cancel your Postonero subscription at any time by contacting us at james@jamesandthesite.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months.
On cancellation, your booking widget will stop functioning and your dashboard access will be removed. We will retain booking data for 30 days after cancellation, after which it will be deleted.
6. Your guests' data
When guests make reservations through your Postonero widget, their personal data (name, email, phone, booking details) is collected and stored on your behalf. You are the data controller for your guests' data. Postonero processes it as a data processor on your instructions.
You are responsible for:
- Having a privacy policy on your restaurant website that informs guests how their booking data is used
- Complying with applicable data protection laws (including UK GDPR) in relation to your guests
- Not using guest contact details for any purpose other than managing their reservation unless you have their explicit consent
Our handling of data as a processor is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Postonero to collect bookings for events or services that are illegal or harmful
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other restaurants' dashboards or data
- Overload or attempt to disrupt the Postonero service
- Use automated tools to create fake bookings or interfere with availability
- Remove or obscure any attribution to Postonero in emails or the booking widget
8. Availability and uptime
We aim to keep Postonero available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates, or events beyond our control may cause temporary downtime. We are not liable for losses arising from service unavailability.
If you experience a prolonged outage (more than 24 hours), contact us and we will address it as a priority.
9. Limitation of liability
Postonero is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, James and the Site is not liable for:
- Loss of bookings or revenue due to service downtime
- Incorrect or missed guest emails due to third-party email delivery issues
- Actions taken by your guests in relation to their reservations
- Any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from use of the service
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from Postonero shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the three months prior to the claim.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via the dashboard. Continued use of Postonero after changes constitutes acceptance. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
